Mary Ann Schwing Patout (b. 1836 d. 1907)

Mary Ann Patout, the namesake of M. A. Patout & Son, became operator of the mill after the death of her husband, Hippolyte Patout Sr. She led the mill through the industrial revolution and is accredited for modernizing, expanding and managing the facility to where it stands today. Mary Ann kept Enterprise up-to-date with the new technological advances of the post-bellum sugar industry.
