Pierre Simeon Patout (b. 1791 d. 1847)

Simeon Patout, along with his wife Appoline and children, was the first Patout to immigrate to Louisiana from the French settlement of Molien, France. Upon arriving to Louisiana, he settled in St. Mary Parish to grow a vineyard, but failed to do so due to the subtropical climate. Overtime, Simeon learned the basics of growing sugar cane and acquired the equipment necessary to start his own plantation, Enterprise.
